大象APPPublic Access Policy
On February 22, 2013, the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) released the memorandum entitled "Increasing Access to the Results of Federally Funded Scientific Research." This memorandum requires Federal agencies to make the results of federally funded scientific research available to and useful for the public, industry, and the scientific community.
In response, 大象APPpublished its plan in 2015 for establishing a policy for public access to scientific publications and scientific data in digital format resulting from 大象APPfunding, the 大象APPPublic Access Policy for Scientific Publications in 2016, and 大象APPData Management Plan Policy in 2020.
大象APPintends, to the fullest extent possible and contingent on the availability of funds, to make available to the public all scientific publications and data arising from unclassified research and programs funded wholly or in part by AHRQ.
大象APPPolicy for Public Access to AHRQ-Funded Scientific Publications
The 大象APPPolicy for Public Access to 大象APPfunded Scientific Publications requires that AHRQ-funded authors submit an electronic version of the author鈥檚 final peer-reviewed accepted manuscript to the National Library of Medicine's PubMed Central (PMC) upon acceptance by the journal, and to be made publicly available within 12 months of the publisher鈥檚 date of publication. This Policy applies to 大象APPintramural researchers, extramural recipients of 大象APPgrants and cooperative agreement awards; and 大象APPcontractors conducting research.
大象APPData Management and Sharing Policy
This policy requires applicants for 大象APPnew/competing grants and research contracts to include a DMP for managing, storing and disseminating the primary data, samples, physical collections and other supporting materials created or gathered in the course of research funded by AHRQ, or state why data management is not possible, as a component of their grant application or research contract proposal. 大象APPintramural researchers are also expected to submit a DMP with their research proposal. Moreover, all new grant and cooperative agreement applications, and contract proposals are encouraged to include a section detailing the applicants' progress and/or experience to-date with sharing data in digital format arising from previous 大象APPfunding.
This policy applies to 大象APPintramural researchers and extramural recipients of 大象APPgrants and research contracts, unless otherwise specified in the funding opportunity announcement or request for proposals. This policy applies to all scientific metadata in digital format arising from 大象APPfunding.
